IACT
representatives Gerald Clevenger, Casey Rackley, and
Tammy Alexander attended the Cyber Security Summit
held at the UT Convention Center. The event billed,
"The First Cyber Security Alliance Conference
in East Tennessee" was co-hosted by the FBI and
the TVA.
According to the conference website,
"The purpose of this conference is to promote
a closer working relationship between law enforcement,
higher education and industry in identifying and dealing
with cyber crime and related matters. The target audience
is law enforcement officers (federal, state, local)
and private industry (IT Professionals/ System administrators)
as well as InfraGard members and academia involved
in Cyber Security Management. The conference theme
is "Confronting Cyber Security Challenges."
Guest speakers included many "C"
level representatives from various organizations.
The presentations were interesting and informative.
It was nice to see UT reaching out to this audience.
Gerald Clevenger, NSF Instructor ran
into many of his former cohorts from Y-12, and the
conference was filled with former FCT graduates. There
was also substantial representation from Knoxville's
InfraGard
chapter. James Goldsten, InfraGard Program Chair closed
Wednesday's agenda with a presentation on InfraGard.

Fountainhead College of Technology, formerly Tennessee Institute of Electronics, was founded in 1947 and is committed to using it resources to significantly contribute to efforts to secure the nation's critical infrastructure. In 1999 the college began offering an associate's degree in Information Technology with curriculum developed to include information security training.
